Saute Green Beans & Garlic

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb fresh green beans, ends trimmed
  • 1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 5-8 large garlic cloves
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Blanch green beans in a large stock pot of salted boiling water for 2 minutes only. Drain and place ice water to stop from cooking for 2 additional minutes.
  2. Take large clean towel or paper towels an pat gently to remove excess water before cooking.
  3. Heat a large heavy skillet over medium heat. Add the oil. Add the beans and saute until coated in the oil, cook for 3 minute and add garlic cloves, red pepper flakes and cook 3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Discard after 5 days if not eaten.
